Objectives

The objective of this course is to provide you with basic mathematical tools that are used in economic analysis.

Contents

  1. Logic and proof writing
  2. Sets, numbers, functions, and Euclidean space: sequences and convergence; continuous functions.
  3. Linear Algebra: solving a system of linear equations; eigenvalues and eigenvectors; sefidefinite and definite matrices.
  4. Differentiation
  5. Unconstrained optimization
  6. Equality constraints and the Lagrangean
  7. Inequality constraints and the Kuhn-Tucker conditions
