Contents

This practical seminar will show the students how to create and develop an opportunity, from customer insights, pertinent value proposition to a robust and meaningful execution plan. The idea is for selected students to experiment with an entrepreneurial adventure, to expose them to the challenges of the creation of a start up or of a new business unit.

Facing real startup or a real Small Medium Enterprise, the students team up, take a consulting role and will provide a convincing opinion to potential investors (the professors) on an investment opportunity. They will develop not only an entrepreneurial spirit but also a critical look on the content and the logic of a business model.

The workshop is leveraging concrete examples and cover critical elements for the development of the entrepreneur / intrapreneur such as the evaluation of innovative business opportunities in the high tech field, market analysis, teamwork, product development, marketing, financing and budgeting, business plan preparation and presentation techniques.

Students will frequently become entrepreneurs during the course or between classes, in teams or individually. Teaching will be very interactive. Creative thinking, commitment, curiosity and the active participation of students will be decisive for learning this module. The course, unconventional, sometimes in French and English, will alternate sharing of experience (Yves Karcher has 30 years of professional experience in innovation and its execution), case studies, presentations "magistrales" , Group work in class, external interviews, individual or group presentations to the rest of the class that will provide a critical look.Students will frequently become entrepreneurs during the course or between classes, in teams or individually.
