Objectives

- Become familiar with the texts of laws relating to international mutual assistance in criminal matters.
- Be able to solve cases using the legal bases and general principles outlined during the course.

Contents


The course on international judicial assistance in criminal matters consists of the study of Swiss judicial cooperation with foreign countries (particularly at the European level). It outlines the common sources and principles of mutual assistance, rules of jurisdiction and judicial organisation, the different forms of mutual assistance, remedies and selected elements such as the international transfer of valuables, the return of assets held in Switzerland unlawfully and the extradition procedure. The teaching method combines theory, practical case and case law study.
